On the fourth Friday of each month the Northside group of Wisconsin Women Entrepreneurs (WWE)  gather. About 30 met yesterday at the Esquire Club at 8am.

I found the group last year from an incredible entrepreneur, Kay-Tee Franke. She was a student in a class I taught. She heard I was thinking of starting something new and invited me to be her guest at a WWE meeting. I was amazed at the energy in the room. I decided to join this group.

From the meetings I’ve attended I discovered once again the wonder of a roomful of women.

The agenda is simple. Introduce yourself in one minute, explaining what you do. Enjoy breakfast with a table of others. These table mates share working towards a life fueled by dreams. Network and share your business card. Say goodbye.

Simple–yes.

Powerful–oh, YES!

Women from all walks of entrepreneurship explain their passions. These aren’t women bored by corporate America. These are women who daily forge their life believing they can make a difference, in their lives and the world.

Between cups of coffee yesterday, I was touched again that in the simple act of sharing, magic can fill a room.

Once in my own introduction of “Life’s a Daring Adventure”, Heather an intuitive coach, looked at me and said, “you are a midwife for midlife”. A lightening bolt hit. In three words she captured what I believe for my own daring adventure. Those words have become my tagline.

I do believe every woman in her midlife has one more ‘heart-dream’ that they want to give birth to. Not for some past parental, societal, partner driven reason, but for themselves. One dream that is special, is personal, is deeply rooted in their heart. It’s that dream I want to be a midwife for, to share the birthing experience with another women contracting and birthing.

The meeting yesterday saw ideas popping across the room. Shannon sharing with Helen that she could expand her business to traveling as a nurse with seniors wishing to travel. I saw the love in Fatou’s heart as she shared her committment to helping seniors and the disabled to stay in their homes. I heard Cathy sharing her own support of Fatou. I witnessed the group thanking our president, June for her service. And so much more…

Women really don’t need much to be inspired. Women need a safe space to share their hearts. Women need to be heard. WWE does that. I am grateful.

Life’s daring adventures lead us daily to many opportunities if we’re open to them. I’m glad my daring adventure lead to WWE yesterday.
